Walking into Crossfit Sligo in September 2021 was one of the best things I did for my physical and mental health. As someone who had previously picked up injuries easily, I have noticed that as my fitness has improved and as I have become stronger, my injuries have become less frequent. This is down to Crossfit. Edel and her team encourage you to build up slowly and modify exercises according to your ability. I have learned that when I listen to my body, I can build up my strength at a steady pace. Even when my body is feeling tired or not the best, I am always provided with lots of different alternatives to keep me in check. I would recommend Crossfit to people with all levels of fitness.

My CrossFit journey began just over 7 years ago on a recommendation from a relation of mine. Having very little or no experience of gyms other than the odd commercial gym that I might sign up for and last about a month trying CrossFit was a totally new experience for me. Walking through the door at Crossfit Sligo for my first WOD changed my whole attitude to training. From day one you feel part of the gym no matter what your level of fitness is.

Everything is broken down and designed to lead you on your progression journey where you are encouraged to set some milestones and reach them through coaching, guidance and encouragement. All the coaches at Crossfit Sligo are very supportive, encouraging and
knowledgeable and take the time to support you anyway they can.

There are so many things that make CrossFit Sligo special, to name but a few – the community of the gym, top class programming, well equipped gym, assortment of coaches, encouragement when things are not going so well, nutrition advice, encouragement and guidance to reach your potential or goals, results and the most important element of doing anything HAVING FUN.
